Law & Order es una serie de televisión policiaca y legal estadounidense, creada por Dick Wolf. Se estrenó el 13 de septiembre de 1990 por la NBC. La trama se desarrolla en la Ciudad de Nueva York y trata sobre la vida cotidiana en la que el departamento de policía tendrá que resolver los crímenes que a diario se cometen, mientras que los fiscales serán los encargados de representar a las víctimas. La serie ha recibido numerosos premios. Es, tras Los Simpson, la serie en emisión más veterana con 20 temporadas en 2010. El episodio piloto fue producido por la CBS en 1988, pero nunca se emitió por su red. Por el contrario, la NBC lo emitió como el episodio 6 en 1990. La NBC anunció el fin de Law & Order, teniendo pensado transmitir un último episodio el 24 de mayo de 2010 luego de una esporádica baja de espectadores.
