Meanwhile, Brandon finally buys his dream car, but finds "the fruit of his summer labor" sour when the car breaks down, gets impounded, and Jim gets angry at Brandon for the careless handling of the car's purchase. Brandon also goes to visit Nat at the Peach Pit to ask for his old job back as the place is under construction for a building expansion.
