Comedia gamberra ambientada en la ciudad de Nueva York y que sigue las aventuras (y desventuras) de Mike Flaherty, un trabajador del ayuntamiento, en sus intentos por mantener la buena imagen del alcalde. El alcalde de Nueva York Randall Winston (Barry Bostwick, 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show') no tiene buena imagen de cara a los ciudadanos y, por si fuera poco, sus adversarios políticos no dudan en aprovecharse de sus fallos para empeorarla aún más. A esto debe enfrentarse Mike Flaherty (Michael J. Fox, 'The Good Wife', 'Enredos de familia','Regreso al futuro'), el teniente alcalde de Winston: proteger a su jefe de las habladurías y maniobras de los adversarios que buscan deteriorar su imagen.
