Protagonizada por 6 heroicos cachorros: Chase, Marshall, Rocky, Zuma, Rubble y Skye, que son entrenados y dirigidos por Ryder, un niño de 10 años que los rescató y les enseñó a utilizar sus habilidades para ayudar a los demás, formando la patrulla canina. Con una combinación única de habilidades para resolver los problemas, lo último en vehículos y mucho humor por parte de estos lindos cachorritos, la patrulla canina (PAW Patrol) trabaja conjuntamente en misiones de rescate de alto riesgo para proteger a la comunidad de Adventure Bay. Desde Marshall (el cachorro bombero) hasta Chase (el cachorro policía), pasando por Skye (quién vuela muy alto con su helicóptero), cada cachorrito aporta una personalidad y destreza únicos al equipo, mostrando la importancia del trabajo en equipo y como ser un buen ciudadano. Todos ellos cuentan con todo lo necesario para rescatar gatitos o incluso ¡salvar un tren de un desprendimiento de rocas! Y no importa como de grande sea la aventura, porque la patrulla canina siempre tendrá tiempo para algún juego, reír y pasar tiempo aprendiendo más cosas con Ryder.
